Ambassador Kamara welcoming ARIPO Director General Twebaze

MONROVIA, Liberia – Liberia welcomed a high-level delegation from ARIPO led by Director General Bemanya Twebaze on October 12, 2025, to promote intellectual property rights and creative development.

Hosted by the Liberia Intellectual Property Office (LIPO) and Arts Ambassador Kekura M. Kamara (Malawala Balawala), the visit focused on implementing the Arusha Protocol, harmonizing IP laws across Africa, and supporting creative industries.

Ambassador Kamara highlighted Liberia’s rich cultural and artistic talent, stressing the importance of protection, recognition, and economic opportunities for creators.

The delegation will engage key stakeholders and meet President Joseph Nyuma Boakai on October 14 to discuss leveraging ARIPO’s platform for creative sector growth and aligning IP policy with Liberia’s economic development agenda. This initiative signals a commitment to placing creativity and innovation at the heart of Liberia’s development.
