Liberia’s U-20 women’s national team opened their Mano River Union Tournament campaign with a determined performance, earning a 2–2 draw against hosts Sierra Leone in an exciting clash.

The defending champions showed their intent early on, with Victoria M. Watkins breaking the deadlock after a well-worked build-up.

 Sierra Leone responded with pressure of their own, drawing level before halftime and later taking the lead as the intensity of the match grew.

But Liberia refused to back down. Striker Wonder H. Juery delivered a crucial equalizer, restoring hope and momentum for the red, white and blue.

 Her goal sealed a well-deserved point and showcased the team’s resilience as they begin their title defense. With confidence and determination evident from the opening whistle, the champions have sent a clear message they are ready to fight for the trophy once again.
