The National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) has provided a comprehensive update on the Mpox response during Friday  Incident Management System (IMS) meeting, highlighting key statistics related to the ongoing health crisis. Director General Dugbah Chris Nyah announced that the total number of lab-confirmed Mpox cases in Liberia has reached 271, with 171 individuals having successfully recovered from the virus.

As the country continues to grapple with the infection, health officials reported 88 active cases currently being monitored.

The total number of tests conducted across the nation stands at 901, reflecting the government’s commitment to extensive testing and contact tracing efforts. Significantly, there have been no reported deaths associated with Mpox, underscoring the effectiveness of response measures implemented thus far.

The NPHIL has emphasized its ongoing dedication to improving public health and safety through rigorous surveillance, education, and community outreach programs aimed at preventing the spread of Mpox.

Director General Nyah reassured citizens that health authorities are prepared to tackle any resurgence of the virus, urging the community to remain vigilant, practice good hygiene, and report any suspicious symptoms immediately.
