MONROVIA – The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) has officially presented its findings in a land dispute case involving the people of Dowein and Toboe Clans to His Honor Judge D. Onesimus Barwon, Resident Judge of the 14th Judicial Circuit Court of Rivercess County.
The presentation, held in Yarpah Town, Rivercess County, brought together hundreds of women, youths, chiefs, elders, religious leaders, and former lawmakers, including traditional leaders.

During the ceremony, Mr. Weah, Assistant Director, CLRD, LLA, who led the team, read the findings, sharing the official results and recommendations from the LLA. He highlighted the importance of unity among the people for the betterment of Rivercess County. Speaking on behalf of the LLA team, Mr. Weah further urged the youth to prioritize dialogue over conflict and destruction when handling land issues. He stated that the LLA, with its new Chairman, is dedicated to ensuring a transparent and impartial adjudication process.
Mr. Weah also called the LLA County Land Administrator to collaborate with the Court to ensure all parties adhere to the Court’s final verdict.

Meanwhile, upon receiving the findings, His Honor Judge D. Onesimus Bawon, Resident Circuit Court Judge of Rivercess County, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Liberia Land Authority Chairman for his efforts. Judge Barwon also praised the young LLA team for their presentation.
“This is what we must encourage. We must give room for our young generation. I want to thank the LLA Chairman for trusting such young and knowledgeable individuals who understand the sector’s language so well. Please extend my greetings to the Chair, Mr. Weah, and Mr. Davis. I am pleased this case has received a professional and unbiased report with recommendations for all parties. It now enables the court to finalize its ruling,” he added.

Judge Barwon also thanked the people of Rivercess County, especially those of Dowein and Toboe, for their patience. He praised the LLA for providing valuable technical advice and hoped that the county’s youth would be inspired by the professionalism exhibited by the LLA representatives.
However, the LLA’s findings confirmed that the disputed communities (Jueh and Gbokon) are entirely within the boundaries of the Dowein clan. Therefore, Dowein holds political authority and ownership over these areas, located on the right bank of the Cestos River in the Central Rivercess Statutory District, north of the Doe River. Mr. Ezekiel B. Weah, Assistant Director of the Customary Land Rights Division (CLRD), was accompanied by Emmanuel Chedeh Davis, Assistant Director for Communication.
