Nancy was reportedly arrested on May 9, 2025, by Inspector Saywon T. Wulah after a verbal altercation and was released the same day. On May 14, her guardian, Ms. Moimeh Thomas, filed a complaint stating that Nancyโ€™s death was due to an assault by Inspector Wulah.

In response to these allegations, the Inspector General of Police ordered an investigation led by the Professional Standards Department. Initial findings recommended suspending Inspector Wulah while the investigation is ongoing.

The IGP has also requested a forensic autopsy to determine the exact cause of Nancyโ€™s death and clarify the events surrounding it.
