MONROVIA, Liberia — The Ministry of Transport, in collaboration with the National Road Fund, has launched 12 electronic road‑safety billboards across Monrovia and surrounding corridors, part of a national push to cut crashes and improve compliance with traffic rules.
Unveiling the signs at the Executive Mansion entrance, Transport Minister Sirleaf Tyler called the rollout “a crucial step toward ensuring safety on Liberia’s roads,” citing “alarming” fatality data from global sources. “As a responsible government, it is our duty to create a safe environment for all road users,” he said, noting the campaign aligns with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s ‘Safe Roads, Save Lives’ agenda and wider public‑awareness measures.

Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Samuel A. Stevquoah III officially launched the program on behalf of the President, thanking the Road Fund, the Ministry of Justice and other partners for their support. He encouraged students and the public to engage with the rotating messages to reinforce safe behavior.
Branded under the motto “Safety First, Safety Always,” the billboards will broadcast targeted safety tips and alerts aimed at drivers, riders and pedestrians. Officials say leveraging digital signage will make guidance more visible and timely, with the goal of reducing crashes and fatalities and fostering a culture of responsible driving nationwide.
