MONROVIA – Thirty-seven university students from across Monrovia have begun their internship program with the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC), gaining practical experience in public administration.
The initiative is part of the Government of Liberia’s internship program, designed to equip students with valuable skills and exposure to the workings of government.

On Wednesday, Mayor John-Charuk Siafa welcomed the interns and encouraged them to maximize the opportunity to develop meaningful, work-related skills.
“This internship program reflects President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s administration efforts to accelerate initiatives that create pathways to employment, training, and youth development,” Mayor Siafa said.
The interns are currently engaged in a variety of roles across the city’s departments, gaining hands-on experience in public service and administrative functions.

A cross-section of the students expressed their enthusiasm to MCCTV, appreciating the foresight of the Monrovia City Corporation and the Unity Party-led government in investing in Liberia’s youth.
“This is a remarkable opportunity to learn and contribute to public service while preparing for our future careers,” one intern said. The MCC internship program is part of a broader effort by the government to empower young Liberians, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and practical experience needed to thrive in both public and private sectors.
