MONROVIA – In a significant move aimed at enhancing educational opportunities and international collaboration, the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC) held a formal signing ceremony for 27 scholarship recipients and their families at Monrovia City Hall.

This event marked a vital part of the Monrovia–Guizhou International Scholarship Program, emphasizing the importance of academic and cultural preparedness for students heading to China.

The ceremony was presided over by Pekeleh Prosperous Paye Gbuapaye, the Director of International Affairs and Migration at MCC. Gbuapaye underscored the occasion’s importance, stating that it serves as an essential step in ensuring that students maintain exemplary standards of conduct while studying abroad, in line with the laws of the People’s Republic of China.

“This signing ceremony is a critical step in ensuring that our students uphold the highest standards of discipline and conduct while studying abroad,” Gbuapaye remarked, reinforcing the significance of the students’ commitment to their educational journey.

The Monrovia-Guizhou International Scholarship Program highlights the growing partnership between the City of Monrovia and Guizhou Province, China, with the goal of broadening educational avenues for Liberia’s youth.

Director Gbuapaye further expressed gratitude to Mayor John-Charuk Siafa and the Monrovia City Government for their unwavering support in bringing this partnership to fruition.

 “We extend our sincere gratitude to Mayor John-Charuk Siafa and the City Government for their extraordinary trust and continued support in making this partnership possible,” she emphasized.

As the 27 scholarship recipients prepare for their upcoming journey to China, the MCC extended congratulations and encouragement.

“Congratulations to all 27 scholarship recipients! We wish you success as you prepare to represent Monrovia with pride and excellence in Guizhou, China,” the corporation stated.
