MONROVIA – In a vivid demonstration of oversight and commitment to organizational growth, the Board of Directors of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL), led by Board Chairperson Cllr. Gloria Maya Musu-Scott, conducted an extensive tour of the company’s new headquarters, currently under construction on 1st Street, Sinkor, directly opposite the United Nations building.
The delegation was joined by NOCAL President and CEO, Hon. Fabian Michael Lai, Vice President for Administration, Hon. M. Boakai Jaleiba, Jr., and other senior management officials who provided detailed briefings during a guided walk-through of the facility.

From the ground floor to the rooftop terrace, Board members inspected office spaces, conference halls, and support facilities, observing the steady pace of construction. They expressed satisfaction with the project’s progress, lauding the dedication of both the construction crew and management team, while offering constructive recommendations to ensure the facility aligns with NOCAL’s long-term strategic vision.
Currently estimated at nearly 80% completion, the building is designed as an innovative corporate hub, comprising five upper floors, a ground floor, and a rooftop terrace. Its design emphasizes operational efficiency, executive functionality, and the flexibility to accommodate future technological and organizational needs.

A major focus of the development is workplace safety. The headquarters will feature modern fire detection and alarm systems, clearly marked emergency exits, and other safety provisions, underscoring NOCAL’s commitment to creating a secure and supportive environment for both employees and clients. The Board’s visit reaffirmed its role in ensuring accountability and oversight while highlighting NOCAL’s broader transformation agenda. Upon completion, the new headquarters is expected to stand as a symbol of innovation, institutional strength, and adherence to global standards, marking a new chapter in Liberia’s energy sector.
