
MONROVIA – The International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) has ended its Fire-Rescue International 2025 Conference from August 13-15, 2025, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, USA. This conference featured variety of sessions, including managing change, ethical leadership, career development, along with providing interactive opportunities, along with hundreds of exhibitors showcasing the latest fire service innovations. It was a significant event for fire and rescue professionals, offering a platform for continuing education, knowledge exchange, and international networking.

NPA Fire Chief Sualiho J. Massalay attended the conference. While there, Chief Massalay held strategic discussions with IAFC President Josh Waldo and Fire Chief Anthony Rios, focusing on modern firefighting strategies, global best practices, and international cooperation.
The NPA fire Chief also toured the Orange County Fire Rescue Headquarters, gaining firsthand exposure to advanced technologies and operational methods that can strengthen Liberia’s firefighting and emergency response systems.

This achievement underscores Liberia’s growing international partnerships and commitment to building a safer, more resilient nation.
During the Conference, the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) proudly welcomed the 149th president of the association at the Fire-Rescue International Conference. Chief Trisha Wolford, of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department (MD), was officially sworn in as IAFC President and Board Chair, succeeding outgoing President Chief Josh Waldo of Bozeman, MT. Chief Wolford was joined in office by newly sworn executive leaders: Chief Steven Locke (South Burlington, VT) as 1st Vice President, Chief Ernest Malone (Indianapolis, IN) as 2nd Vice President, and Chief Jim Silvernail (St. Louis County, MO) as Treasurer.
Chief Waldo will continue to serve on the IAFC Executive Committee as Immediate Past President. As IAFC President, Chief Wolford will serve as the association’s official spokesperson and representative, preside over meetings of the Association and Board of Directors, and lead the organization in advancing fire and emergency services worldwide.
