Monrovia โ OWECC-L Associate Director of Gender and Youth, Attorney Vivian D. Neal, Wednesday, May 28, led a delegation to participate in the national celebration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day.
OWECC-L is the Office for the Establishment of War and Economic Crimes for Liberia.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection in collaboration with development partners, spotlighted ongoing efforts to promote menstrual health and dignity for women and girls across the country.

Menstruation is a natural biological process, yet it remains surrounded by stigma and silence, particularly in post-conflict societies like Liberia.
Despite its natural occurrence in females, many still face significant barriers to safe and hygienic menstrual practices due to poverty, limited access to sanitary products, and inadequate water and sanitation infrastructure.
By joining the observance of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, the Office of the War and Economic Crimes Court demonstrates its commitment to advancing women dignity and demonstrates essential step in rebuilding public trust in gender justice. The OWECC-L remains committed to supporting gender-sensitive policies and initiatives that promote equity and inclusion in Liberiaโs post-conflict recovery.
