The quiet town of Fish Town in River Gee County came alive on September 26, 2025, when Superintendent Hon. Mike T. Swengbe stepped forward with exciting news. Standing before local leaders, athletes, and eager residents, he announced the full lineup of officials who will steer the county toward glory in the 2025/2026 National County Sports Meet.
Superintendent Swengbe’s voice carried both pride and purpose as he explained that the appointments were meant to strengthen River Gee’s organization, mobilization, and technical preparation. “This is our time to show what River Gee can do,” he said, urging every citizen to rally behind the newly named team.
At the heart of this effort is the County Sports Steering Committee, led by A. Dennis Wion as Chairman and Madam Evelyn O. Fahnbulleh as Co-chair.
They will be supported by a dedicated crew, including Secretary General George Kennedy Doe, Mobilization Chair Asatu Q. Kamara with Co-chair Moses Williams, and Financial Advisor Hon. Evelyn Dweh Washington.
The committee’s planning will be guided by Budget Planner Larry J. Gbegeah, Media and Publicity duo Hanson Juwah and Prince D. Copeland, and Traditional Advisor Chief Lewis Gborfueh, alongside members Jestina Gasue, Adolphus Tweh, Joe Sosah, and Alice Dopoh.
To match their strategy with skill, Superintendent Swengbe also unveiled the Technical Staff for both the male and female teams.
The men’s side will be led by Technical Director Monroe Winn and Head Coach Alphonso Jarwee, supported by Deputy Coach James Laquie, Team Manager Samuel Gee, Trainer Benson Karyee, Goalkeeper Trainer Alfred Bartee, Caretaker Daniel Gbarduo, Statistician Moses Kossigba, and Team Medic Augustin Wesseh.
On the women’s side, Head Coach Michael L. Y. Tweh and Deputy Amos David will guide the squad, with Daniel Greaves as Head Trainer, Princess Choloply as Team Manager, T. Chris P. Sampson as Statistician, and Prince Brown as Team Medic.
The Superintendent closed his announcement with a call for unity. “These appointments are not just titles they are a commitment to River Gee’s pride and progress. Let us stand together as one county, one family.” All appointees have been asked to report to the County Administrative Building on Monday, September 29, 2025, to receive their official letters of appointment. With the roster now set and preparations underway, the people of River Gee are ready to cheer their teams toward victory in Liberia’s premier sporting festival.
