MONROVIA – House Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon has told a gathering of parliamentary leaders to prioritize institutional mechanisms for peace-building, promote human-centered security, champion inclusive development, and advance inter-regional collaboration.

Speaker Koon stressed the importance of building collective efforts based on mutual understanding to effectively drive a unified global legislative agenda.

The Liberian lawmaker linked parliamentary collaboration to advancing sustainable growth, highlighting the importance of ensuring that development benefits all citizens, especially those in rural and underserved areas.

Speaker Koon spoke Tuesday at the start of a gathering of heads of parliaments from across the globe at the maiden edition of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference currently taking place in Pakistan.

The ISC is an Intergovernmental, Inter-parliamentary and Multilateral

Organization. Its objectives are building global unity, strengthening peace and shared prosperity through inter-parliamentary dialogue.

With over 45 Speakers from around the world as its members, ISC has emerged as a vital multilateral platform promoting dialogue, understanding and parliamentary diplomacy across regions. Its growing diplomatic clout and influence have significantly contributed to fostering peace, cooperation and people-centered policy exchange among member parliaments.

The theme of the Conference is “Peace, Security and Development”.

The Speaker is accompanied to the ISC by the Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Hydrocarbon, Bomi County District 3 Representative, Sam P. Jallah. The Speaker is expected to return to the country on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
