
MONROVIA – In a significant diplomatic move, the Director General of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), Mr Anthony K. Souh, paid a courtesy visit to the Indian Embassy on June 4, 2025, to enhance collaboration between Liberia and India in the fight against drug trafficking.
During a warm and constructive meeting with Ambassador Manoj Bihari Verma, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, focusing on capacity building for LDEA officers.

Ambassador Verma, representing the Government of India, reiterated his country’s continued support through technical and economic cooperation initiatives (ITEC), which offer vital training opportunities for LDEA personnel.
We believe that empowering your officers through knowledge and skills will directly support Liberia’s efforts to combat drug crimes more effectively, he stated.
In response, Director Souh expressed heartfelt gratitude to the People’s Republic of India for its timely and strategic support.
The LDEA is at a pivotal point where enhanced training is not just necessary but essential for impactful service delivery, he remarked. “We are confident that this partnership will lead to greater operational efficiency and a safer Liberia for all.
