MONROVIA – Journalists at the QNET VCON webinar organised on Wednesday, 13th August, 2025 shared a general sentiment that they were happy the real QNET is intensifying its efforts to educate the media and the general public that the company is not the one causing havoc to people’s lives in Liberia through fraudulent visa schemes, illegal migration and promise of overseas jobs.
One of the journalists who attended the QNET VCON webinar exclaimed: “I was part of the journalists that went and ransacked some hiding spots of some people who claimed to be QNET. In the past, I wrote many negative stories on QNET because I did not have the information I am exposed to, today. I am happy that the real QNET is speaking up now and creating awareness that it is not involved in all the financial vices we have witnessed in Liberia.”
The QNET VCON webinar for journalists is a media forum to educate journalists about the real QNET, its business model, product offerings and activities in Liberia. It is also a platform for Liberian journalists who have travelled to visit the head office of QNET in Malaysia and have attended the company’s flagship global conference, known as VCON, to share their vivid and unbiased experience with other Liberian journalists.
VCON Malaysia is a global gathering of QNET’s independent distributors, experienced entrepreneurs, government officials, partners and the media. At the QNET VCON Malaysia, the company usually showcases firsthand, its commitment to entrepreneurship, innovation, empowerment, and social impact.
Willie Tokpah, President of the Liberian Reporters Association and a reporter with Front Page Newspaper who visited QNET’s Head Office in Malaysia in June, 2025 said: “For the first time, I saw the two Founders of QNET. They are so full of wisdom and are very inspiring. They told the story of how they started the company 26 years ago. It was a story of faith, hard work, diligence, consistency and continuous improvement. You will be inspired to start something or dedicate more faith and hardwork to whatever you are already doing.”
“I also spoke to top QNET officials. They explained why QNET has challenges in Liberia and what they are doing about it. They spoke about the “QNET Against Scams” campaign and the Product Workshops for journalists in different countries. You will realise that QNET is actually doing a lot to fight scams and they need our help and encouragement to do more especially in Liberia.”
Naana Quartey, QNET’s Global Compliance Officer provided some clarification, emphazising: “QNET is not responsible for all the bad stories you have heard. There are people who deliberately misuse our name and products for their selfish gains. QNET is not a scam, we are not a ponzi scheme, we do not promise overseas jobs or visa and we do not encourage illegal migration. Our business is online and you can participate in it without leaving your country of residence to another country.”
“We are actively ensuring our practices align with local laws and international standards. We have strengthened our compliance team, providing ongoing training to our distributors and partners, emphasizing ethical conduct, and promoting responsible business practices. We are also implementing robust internal controls, conducting regular audits, and establishing clear channels for feedback and grievances. Our goal is to foster trust and demonstrate that QNET operates with integrity and respect for Liberians and its local regulations.”
David Yates, a journalist with Daily Observer, who travelled to QNET’s head office in Malaysia last year also share his unique experience: “I learned about the diverse range of QNET products, from health and wellness to lifestyle and personal care, and understood the high standards of quality and credibility upheld by the company. I am convinced QNET is real and I am helping spread the news and cautioning people from falling to scams that are pretending to be from QNET. I believe education and awareness creation is key and QNET is already doing that gradually in Liberia.”
