Rochell Woodson, President Rovers Ladies FC

The President of Rover Ladies FC, Rochell Woodson, has officially declared her intention to contest for the position of Executive Committee Member of the Liberia Football Association in the upcoming elections scheduled for April 18, 2026.

Speaking at a press conference held at her residence on Saturday, February 28, 2026, ROVER Ladies Football CLUB  President Rochell Woodson described football in Liberia as more than just a sport. “Football in Liberia is not just a sport; it is a powerful instrument for unity, youth empowerment, and national pride,” she said. She noted that her leadership journey has always been anchored in service, inclusion, integrity, and institutional growth.

Reflecting on her previous tenure on the LFA Executive Committee, Woodson emphasized her unwavering advocacy for transparency, accountability, and strong governance structures.

She acknowledged that her push for responsible leadership and institutional reform placed her at the center of scrutiny but maintained that credible football administration must be built on principled leadership. “True progress requires courage,” she stated.

Woodson also highlighted her service on the FIFA Women’s Football Committee, where she contributed to advancing global strategies to expand women’s football development, strengthen grassroots participation for girls, and promote greater representation of women in football governance.

She said the experience strengthened her resolve to ensure equal opportunities for Liberian women and girls within the football ecosystem.

She pointed to what she described as tangible progress made under the leadership of LFA President Mustapha I. Raji, including infrastructure upgrades at the LFA headquarters, modernization of administrative systems, capacity-building programs for referees and coaches, and the expansion of youth and women’s football structures nationwide.

For these reasons, Woodson publicly declared her full support for President Raji’s third-term bid, stressing that continuity is critical to consolidating gains and accelerating the transformation of Liberian football.

As the April 18 elections approach, she is seeking the confidence and support of stakeholders and delegates, pledging to serve with fairness, courage, transparency, and dedication to strengthen governance, expand opportunities for women and youth, and safeguard the integrity of Liberian football. “Together, we can secure a stronger, more inclusive, and sustainable future for Liberian football,” she concluded.
