MONROVIA – Congratulatory messages continue to pour in from across Liberia’s insurance industry, business community, and civil society following the election of Mr. Willis J. Allen, Officer-in-Charge of ACTIVA International Insurance Company Liberia, as Vice President of the Liberia Insurance Association (LIA).

The election is being widely viewed as recognition of Allen’s decades of leadership, professionalism, and contribution to Liberia’s growing insurance sector.

ACTIVA Liberia announced the development on its official social media platforms, describing Allen’s election as a reflection of his resilience, commitment to excellence, and ability to champion innovation and collaboration within the industry.

“This achievement is more than a title; it is a recognition of the hard work, resilience, and leadership that has guided ACTIVA through challenges and growth,” the company noted in its congratulatory message.

The Liberia Insurance Association also welcomed its newly elected leadership team, expressing confidence that the new executives will help strengthen the industry and promote greater public trust in insurance services across the country.

Leadership Beyond the Boardroom

Allen’s influence extends beyond the insurance industry.

He currently serves as Grand Master of the Honorable Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the Republic of Liberia, one of the country’s oldest and most respected fraternal institutions.

Over the years, he has earned respect in both corporate and civic circles for his emphasis on ethical leadership, institutional development, community service, and professional integrity.

Those who know him describe him as a quiet but effective leader whose focus has consistently been on strengthening organizations and empowering people.

Driving ACTIVA’s Growth in Liberia

As Officer-in-Charge of ACTIVA Liberia, Allen has overseen efforts to expand insurance penetration, strengthen customer confidence, and introduce innovative insurance products to the Liberian market.

ACTIVA International Insurance Company is part of the ACTIVA Group, a leading pan-African insurance network operating in several countries across the continent.

Since entering the Liberian market, ACTIVA has grown into one of the country’s leading insurance providers, offering a broad range of products including life, health, motor, property, and corporate insurance solutions.

The company has also distinguished itself through prompt claims settlement, customer-focused services, and active engagement with communities.

Corporate Social Responsibility at the Forefront

Under Allen’s leadership, ACTIVA Liberia has increasingly emphasized social impact initiatives aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable populations.

One of the company’s latest initiatives is the launch of the ACTIVA Foundation Social Day 2026, a major corporate social responsibility program targeting orphanages across Liberia.

The initiative, announced this week by the ACTIVA Foundation—the philanthropic arm of the ACTIVA Group—invites registered orphanages throughout Liberia to apply for selection as beneficiaries of the company’s first-ever ACTIVA Social Day, scheduled for July 18, 2026.

According to the Foundation, the program seeks to support orphanages that often receive little public attention and limited donor support.

“The ACTIVA Foundation intends to direct its support primarily toward structurally disadvantaged orphanages—those penalized by low public profile and which, lacking influence networks or proximity to conventional funding circuits, receive no spontaneous flow of donations or subsidies,” the Foundation stated.

Supporting Liberia’s Most Vulnerable Children

The selected orphanage will benefit from a full day of engagement with ACTIVA employees, including educational, recreational, and sporting activities for resident children.

The Foundation also plans to provide meals, material donations, and increased visibility for the selected institution through its communication platforms.

Applications officially opened on June 2 and will close on June 19, 2026. Following a review process and site visits, the successful institution will be announced on July 10 ahead of the July 18 event.

Eligibility is limited to legally accredited orphanages housing at least 20 resident children.

The initiative forms part of ACTIVA Group’s broader commitment to social responsibility across the seven African countries in which it operates.

Recognition Continues to Grow

Observers say Allen’s election as Vice President of the Liberia Insurance Association comes at a pivotal moment for Liberia’s insurance industry, which continues to pursue reforms aimed at increasing insurance awareness, expanding coverage, and improving consumer confidence.

Many of the congratulatory messages circulating on social media have praised his leadership style, professionalism, and commitment to service.

With responsibilities spanning corporate leadership, industry representation, philanthropy, and fraternal governance, Allen’s latest election is being viewed as another significant milestone in a career dedicated to institution-building and national development.

As congratulations continue to pour in, many within the insurance industry believe his election positions him to play an even greater role in shaping the future of insurance and corporate citizenship in Liberia.
