Montserrado Sub-Association Womenโ€™s Football Focus Person and Chairman of the Central Monrovia Subcommittee, Lester S. Teah, has significantly elevated the profile of women’s football in Liberia by introducing a series of prestigious awards in the LFA Lower Womenโ€™s League and the Community Womenโ€™s League.

For the first time in the history of the LFA Lower Womenโ€™s League, individual excellence was formally recognized with awards for Top Scorer, Best Defender, Best Goalkeeper, and Best Coach.

The Community Womenโ€™s League introduced honors for Best Coach and Best Defender, signaling a new era of recognition, motivation, and appreciation in Liberian womenโ€™s football.

The recently concluded season of the LFA Lower Womenโ€™s League was electrifying. Republic FC emerged as champions with 41 points, narrowly edging out LEAD Monrovia Football Academy, who finished second with 40 points after a tightly contested season.

Falconets claimed third place with 30 points, securing victory in their final match, while Small Town settled for fourth with 29 points following a 2โ€“0 loss to Republic FC at the Tusa Field Sports Pitch over the weekend.

In the LFA Community Womenโ€™s League, Bushrod Queens-II clinched the championship with 12 points and a remarkable 14 goals scored.

Despite Robert Saah FC also finishing with 12 points, Bushrod Queens took the title thanks to their superior goal difference (+5).

The 2024/2025 season was a thrilling one for clubs, coaches, and players alike. It was a fiercely contested campaign in both the Lower Womenโ€™s and Community Womenโ€™s Leagues, where match outcomes were highly unpredictable and competition was intense.

The award ceremony, spearheaded by Lester S. Teah, represents more than just trophies it is a strong gesture of encouragement and commitment to developing womenโ€™s and grassroots football across Liberia.

โ€œThis initiative is about giving these young women and their coaches the recognition they deserve. Itโ€™s a step toward greater investment in their talent and future,โ€ said Teah in an exclusive interview.
