MONROVIA, Liberia: FC Bea Mountain advanced to the semifinals of the ongoing Bettomax Champions Cup after defeating Paynesville FC 2-0, with striker Ralph Weah scoring both goals to secure the Gold Boys’ place in the last four.
Weah’s brace proved decisive as Bea Mountain maintained its strong run in the competition and finished at the top of the group with seven points from three matches.
The Gold Boys recorded two victories and one draw, remaining unbeaten throughout the group stage.
Watanga Also Advances
Watanga FC, meanwhile, finished as group runners-up with three points after drawing all three of their group-stage matches.
Despite failing to secure a victory, Watanga’s three points were enough to earn the Warriors a place in the semifinals alongside Bea Mountain.
The two sides now advance to the knockout stage, where the competition will intensify as the remaining teams battle for the Bettomax Champions Cup title.
