-Prophet Key Still Inside Monrovia Central Prison as Family Awaits His Walkout
MONROVIA, LIBERIA — The Supreme Court of Liberia has ordered the release of social media commentator and self-styled prophet Justin Oldpa Yeazehn, popularly known as Prophet Key, but he remains inside the Monrovia Central Prison awaiting his formal release.
Prophet Key has spent the past six months at the Monrovia Central Prison after being convicted by the Supreme Court’s Full Bench on February 13, 2026, for criminal contempt.
The latest development came Friday as the Supreme Court directed that Prophet Key be released from custody following the completion of his six-month prison sentence.
However, despite the Court’s order, Prophet Key had not yet walked out of the prison compound as of the latest information available. He remained within the Monrovia Central Prison awaiting the completion of the release process.
Family Awaits Prison Walkout
Prophet Key’s wife and children have reportedly arrived at the Monrovia Central Prison to await his release.
The family members are said to be dressed in white as they wait for the Prophet to walk out of the prison compound following six months of incarceration.
The scene has drawn attention as supporters and family members await the moment when Prophet Key will formally regain his freedom.
Six-Month Contempt Sentence
Prophet Key’s imprisonment followed his conviction by the Supreme Court over statements he made concerning members of the Liberian judiciary.
The Court had imposed a six-month custodial sentence, along with additional conditions reportedly including an apology and a bond committing him to refrain from repeating the conduct that resulted in his conviction.
The case generated considerable public debate across Liberia, particularly over the balance between freedom of expression and respect for the authority and integrity of the judiciary.
Awaiting Final Release
With the Supreme Court now ordering his release, attention has shifted to the formal execution of the order and Prophet Key’s expected walkout from the Monrovia Central Prison.
Until he physically exits the prison compound, however, the distinction remains important: Prophet Key has been ordered released, but he has not yet been physically released from custody.
