MONROVIA, LIBERIA – Residents of several rural communities in Wacaba Statutory District, Sinoe County, are beginning to benefit from improved access to electricity and educational support following the launch of a community-based solar electrification initiative by the Carbadae Apoliebo Organization (CAPO).
The initiative, spearheaded by CAPO Executive Chairman Sennay Carlor III and Co-Chairman Alphonso B. Cole, aims to provide solar-powered lighting systems to underserved towns and villages across the Carbadae area in Electoral District #3, Sinoe County.
The project officially commenced with the distribution of solar lights to several communities, including Barduway Town, Shadee Town, Butt Nacky Village, Miles 48 Community, Tacti Village, Gblayee Town, Sanquine Junction, and Pyne Town.
According to CAPO officials, the initiative is intended to address the persistent lack of electricity in rural communities where residents continue to struggle with darkness, insecurity, and limited study opportunities for school-going children.

As part of the project, the organization also donated educational materials and books to students during a presentation ceremony held in Chebior Town, further reinforcing its commitment to supporting learning and academic development in the area.
Community residents described the intervention as both timely and impactful, noting that access to solar lighting will significantly improve nighttime safety and create a better environment for students and families.
Speaking during a separate turnover ceremony in Shadee Town, Chairman Carlor reaffirmed CAPO’s commitment to promoting community development and strengthening cooperation with residents throughout the Carbadae region.
He explained that despite operational and financial challenges, the organization successfully completed the first phase of the project through collaboration with partners and well-wishers.
Chairman Carlor further disclosed that preparations are already underway for the second phase of the electrification initiative, which is expected to extend solar lighting benefits to additional communities within the district.

He also praised Crayton Old Man Duncan for his support and contributions toward the successful implementation of the project.
The CAPO Chairman encouraged residents to remain actively engaged in local development initiatives and continue supporting efforts aimed at improving living conditions across rural communities.
Residents, youth groups, women’s organizations, and traditional leaders welcomed the initiative and described it as an important step toward community transformation and rural development in the area.
Meanwhile, Kwekue Queeley, Superintendent of Sinoe County, commended CAPO for what he described as a meaningful intervention that will positively impact communities across the district.
