WEALA, Margibi County – Jeety Rubber LLC and its subsidiary, Salala Rubber Corporation (SRC), have honored their commitment to the Margibi County kickball team by presenting L$550,000 in cash rewards following the team’s championship victory at the just-ended 2025/2026 National County Sports Meet.

The financial incentive, which had been pledged earlier in the tournament, was contingent upon the team winning the kickball title. After securing the championship in a dramatic final, the companies fulfilled their promise, with each of the 20 players receiving L$25,000. An additional L$50,000 was presented to the team’s technical staff, bringing the total reward package to L$550,000.

The latest disbursement forms part of a broader package of financial and material support provided by Jeety Rubber and SRC to Margibi County’s sports teams throughout the tournament. In total, the companies invested approximately L$1.1 million in support of both the kickball and football squads during the competition.

According to figures released at the ceremony, the kickball team received L$860,000 in cumulative support. This includes L$500,000 for winning the championship, L$260,000 for their semifinal triumph, and an initial L$100,000 donation at the start of the tournament. The football team received L$100,000 in initial support, L$50,000 for technical staff, and L$100,000 worth of food and logistical assistance.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Mr. Upjit Singh Sachdeva, Chief Executive Officer and owner of Jeety Rubber and SRC—widely known as Jeety—said the gesture reflects his companies’ sustained commitment to youth empowerment and sports development in Margibi County.

“We are delighted to make this contribution to the Margibi County kickball team,” Mr. Sachdeva said. “The girls’ victory in the female component of the County Meet makes us proud. We will continue to stand with them and do all we can to ensure they retain the title next season.”
He emphasized that sports remain a powerful platform for discipline, teamwork, and community pride, noting that private-sector support is essential to sustaining competitive county teams.

Margibi County Superintendent O. Jay Morris lauded the companies for what he described as robust and consistent backing for youth and sports initiatives across the county. He credited the financial incentives as a major morale booster that inspired the team to push through difficult matches and ultimately clinch the championship.
“This level of support played a key role in motivating our girls to bring the trophy home,” Superintendent Morris said. “We are grateful to Jeety Rubber and SRC and look forward to even greater collaboration as we prepare to defend our kickball title and compete strongly in football next year.”

Team captain Ruth Sonpon, who led the squad to victory in the high-stakes final, said the promised reward provided an added layer of motivation during the tournament.
“When Mr. Jeety made that promise, it pushed us to fight harder because we knew someone believed in us,” Sonpon said. “This support gives us confidence and shows young girls in Margibi that women’s sports matter.”
She added that the funds will help players improve training and preparation ahead of the next edition of the National County Sports Meet.

The Margibi kickball team’s victory has been widely celebrated across the county, with many observers pointing to the growing impact of corporate sponsorship in strengthening grassroots sports. For Jeety Rubber and SRC—both major investors and employers in Weala and surrounding communities—the support aligns with ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts that span health, education, water access, and youth development.
As Margibi County begins preparations for the next tournament cycle, stakeholders say the championship bonus sets a new benchmark for private-sector engagement in county sports.
