The Liberia Football Association (LFA) on Tuesday, 10 February, launched a two-day CAF Safeguarding Workshop aimed at strengthening protection measures within grassroots clubs and Member Association structures.
LFA President Mustapha I. Raji officially declared the workshop open, describing it as a significant opportunity for Liberian football and a reflection of CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe’s vision to develop the game at all levels across Africa while ensuring equal opportunities for all.
“This safeguarding workshop is a starting point for learning, capacity building, and professional growth,” President Raji said. “With the experts here and the support from CAF, we have the opportunity not only to grow the game, but also to protect it and strengthen our institutions. This is just the beginning, and the sky is the limit.”
The workshop brings together more than 50 participants, offering direct access to expert guidance and practical knowledge designed to reinforce safeguarding frameworks across the football ecosystem.
Participants will engage in capacity-building sessions focused on enhancing protection measures in academies, grassroots football, women’s football, administration, and competitions.
The workshop is being facilitated by CAF Safeguarding Manager Omar Amr Abou-Zeid, Consultant Norman Brook, and WAFU A Competition Manager Abdoulaye Cissé.
The LFA views the initiative as a strategic step toward building stronger institutions, developing qualified professionals, and ensuring that football development in Liberia is supported by robust safeguarding systems.
