Youth & Sports Minister Cornelia Kruah

Liberia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah, has called for unity and respect for football governance structures following her attendance at her first Congress of the Liberia Football Association (LFA).

With the LFA elections set for April, Minister Kruah urged stakeholders across the football community to remain actively engaged while embracing differences in opinions and choices. She cautioned against allowing political tensions to overshadow the unifying spirit of the game.

“As the LFA prepares for elections in April, we urge all parties to remain engaged but accommodating of diversity in views and choices. Let us ensure that politics doesn’t erode the unity that football is known to promote,” she stated, stressing that the association’s laws, policies, and rules must be respected at all times.

The Minister also extended appreciation to LFA President Mustapha I. Raji and his administration for their ongoing contributions to the development of football in Liberia. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the sports sector nationwide.

Highlighting the government’s vision, Kruah emphasized continued investment in sports infrastructure, youth talent development, and increasing women’s participation in football and other sporting disciplines.

Her remarks underscore strong government backing for the growth of football in Liberia while reinforcing the need for collaboration, stability, and mutual respect within the sport’s leadership during the upcoming electoral period.
