MONROVIA — The Liberia Football Association (LFA) has congratulated two of its staff members for successfully completing the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone A Competitions Management Workshop held in Freetown, Sierra Leone, from April 20–22, 2026.

Borris Weah, Competitions Officer, and Mercy P. Fassah, Competitions and Club Licensing Officer, were among 17 participants drawn from WAFU Zone A member associations who took part in the three-day capacity-building program.

The workshop focused on strengthening competition management across the region, equipping football administrators with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to organize and manage tournaments in line with international standards.

LFA officials said the training forms part of a broader regional effort to enhance professionalism, improve organizational systems, and elevate the overall quality of football competitions in West Africa.

The Association also expressed appreciation to West African Football Union Zone A for organizing the initiative and for its continued support in advancing football administration across member countries.

According to the LFA, investing in staff development remains a key pillar of its strategy to strengthen institutional capacity and drive sustainable growth within Liberian football.

The participation of its staff in high-level regional programs, the Association noted, ensures that Liberia remains aligned with evolving global standards in football governance and competition management.
