“From Thief-Five to UP Cash Cow” — Gray Fires Back at Fallah, Unity Party

MONROVIA – Deputy House Speaker Thomas P. Fallah has launched a new nationwide political movement known as NIMBO — the National Independent Movement for Boakai — while delivering a blunt warning to government officials he believes are becoming disconnected from the grassroots communities that brought them to power.

Speaking Saturday during a visit to the future headquarters site of the movement ahead of its official unveiling and groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for May 24, 2026, Fallah called on public officials to reconnect with ordinary Liberians, particularly residents of poor communities and urban slums.

“Go back in the slum. Go back in the ghettos. Go back in the communities,” Fallah declared to supporters gathered at the site.

The Deputy Speaker’s remarks immediately generated political attention across Liberia, with many observers interpreting the statement as both a warning to government officials and a signal of aggressive grassroots political mobilization ahead of future national elections.

NIMBO Emerges as Pro-Boakai Political Force

Fallah later took to Facebook to formally announce the growing expansion of NIMBO across Liberia’s 15 counties.

“Today, I visited the future home of NIMBO to inspect progress ahead of our official unveiling and groundbreaking ceremony on May 24, 2026,” he wrote.

“I am encouraged by the strong support we continue to receive, including the upcoming endorsements from more than 36 lawmakers.”

According to Fallah, NIMBO — meaning the National Independent Movement for Boakai — is being organized as a broad-based independent political movement intended to support the development agenda and political vision of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.

“I invite all Liberians, regardless of political affiliation, to join us as we build the largest independent political movement in our nation’s history,” Fallah declared.

Political analysts say the movement could become one of the most influential grassroots political structures within the ruling establishment if it successfully consolidates support from lawmakers, youth groups, and community organizers nationwide.

‘Bring Your Wings Down’

During his remarks, Fallah accused some officials within government of becoming arrogant and detached after assuming positions of power.

“Now, you are in the driver’s seat. Bring your arms down,” he warned.

“Those that have privileges, bring your arms down. Because it’s difficult to see the hands of the people. Bring your wings down.”

The Deputy Speaker stressed that political authority is temporary and reminded officials that they would eventually return to the same communities from which they emerged.

“When the people decide, you will be in the community again,” he cautioned.

He further emphasized that governance must remain people-centered rather than elite-driven.

“The day you have government, you are going to serve your people. Serve your people with intelligence. Serve your people with commitment,” Fallah stated.

‘If Joseph Boakai Is Re-Elected’

Fallah also openly linked the success of the Boakai administration to future economic opportunities for ordinary Liberians.

“If Joseph Boakai is re-elected, the possibility of getting jobs will be assured,” he told supporters.

He warned government officials that failure to perform or remain connected to the public could result in their removal.

“If they will have to replace you, they will replace you,” he declared.

The Deputy Speaker additionally promised that NIMBO would aggressively monitor public officials and demand accountability within government.

“All ministers will be critiqued. All directors of government will be critiqued,” he stated.

According to him, the movement intends to ensure that the Boakai administration remains responsive to ordinary Liberians rather than drifting away from its grassroots support base.

Fallah’s Grassroots Political Influence

Known widely by supporters as “T-Five,” Fallah has long been considered one of Liberia’s strongest grassroots political mobilizers, especially within Montserrado County.

Before becoming Deputy Speaker, he served as Representative for Montserrado County District #5 and built a powerful political network through direct engagement with youth groups, market communities, slum residents, and urban voters.

His latest initiative is already being viewed by political observers as a major effort to consolidate political influence ahead of Liberia’s future electoral battles, particularly the 2029 presidential race.

Gray Launches Scathing Attack

However, Fallah’s growing alignment with the ruling establishment has triggered criticism from opposition figures, especially former Montserrado County District #8 Representative Acarous Moses Gray.

Gray, a staunch opposition figure and former ally of ex-President George Weah, accused the ruling Unity Party of hypocrisy regarding corruption allegations previously leveled against Fallah.

“FROM THIEF-FIVE TO UP CASH COW,” Gray wrote on social media.

“The entire Unity Party once called him THIEF-FIVE and vowed to prosecute him for corruption, but today they celebrate him as President Boakai wine and dine with him spending some of the alleged corrupt money.”

Gray further questioned the sincerity of the Unity Party’s anti-corruption agenda.

“This begs the question on the UP sincerity in fighting corruption and selective justice,” he added.

The comments quickly fueled intense debate across Liberian political circles and social media platforms, where supporters and critics of both camps exchanged sharp reactions over Fallah’s political transformation and increasing influence within the Boakai administration.

NIMBO Adds New Layer to Liberia’s Political Landscape

The emergence of NIMBO now adds another dynamic element to Liberia’s rapidly evolving political environment as politicians and grassroots organizers increasingly reposition themselves under new alliances and political movements.

Observers say the movement’s reported backing from more than 36 lawmakers could eventually transform it into a formidable political bloc capable of significantly influencing national politics.

For now, however, all attention remains fixed on the official unveiling of NIMBO later this month — an event many believe could reveal the true scale of Thomas Fallah’s political ambitions and organizational reach within Liberia’s ruling political establishment.
