MONROVIA- In a bid to promote transparency, accountability, and proactive fiscal oversight, the House Committee on Ways, Means and Finance has commenced strategic planning for its Fiscal Year 2025 legislative agenda, focusing on open budget discussions and enhanced revenue generation.
During a working session held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, the Committee Chairman, Hon. P. Mike Jury, emphasized that the ongoing strategy formulation will serve as a guiding roadmap for the Committeeโs legislative interventions throughout the national budget process.
โOur work must not be limited only to budget hearings,โ Chairman Jury noted. โWe must continuously identify and monitor government revenue sources while working to minimize leakages and improve fiscal performance.โ
The meeting was attended by members of the Committee and technicians from the Legislative Budget Office, who presented an independent analysis of the First Quarter FY2025 Budget Performance Report, covering the period January 1 to March 31, 2025.

The Committeeโs focus areas include:
* Streamlining government income sources
* Enhancing revenue mobilization mechanisms
* Addressing inefficiencies in tax and non-tax collections
* Strengthening budget oversight and execution monitoring
The Committee is poised to play a leading role in ensuring that the national budget process is inclusive, evidence-based, and driven by development priorities.
This strategic initiative reflects the House of Representativesโ broader commitment to responsible governance, fiscal discipline, and improving service delivery to the Liberian people.
