MONROVIA, Liberia — The Monrovia City Court has issued a writ of arrest for four people accused of defrauding the Chapel of Praise Central Gospel Mission of $10,000 in a land sale, and court officers have taken one suspect into custody.
The defendants are identified as Stephen AB Gome, Ma Sando Fahnbulleh, Gbankay Morris, and Bryant Wilson. Following the court order, Gome was arrested on a charge of theft of property; the remaining suspects are at large.
Stipendiary Magistrate Ben Barco signed the writ on Oct. 14, 2025, directing all police and law enforcement officers to locate the accused and bring them before the Monrovia City Court. The order instructs that arrests made outside working hours result in temporary detention at the nearest police station until court convenes.
According to court documents, the defendants “criminally” accepted $10,000 from the church—represented by Pastor Z. Saturday—under the pretense of selling land but had no intention of transferring the property. The church moved to begin development after purchase, but another individual later claimed ownership of the same parcel. Attempts to resolve the dispute outside of court failed, prompting legal action.
The court’s order seeks to ensure the remaining suspects are found and brought to face the allegations as the case proceeds.
