UNIFICATION TOWN, Margibi Co. — The Chief Executive Officer of TAF Africa Global, Mustapha “TAF” Njie, has concluded a five-day high-level investment mission to Liberia, departing the country on Saturday, April 11, with renewed commitment to fast-track a proposed 5,000-unit housing and smart city initiative.
Njie’s visit, which began last Sunday at the invitation of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, marked one of the most significant private-sector investment engagements in recent months, spanning strategic meetings, site inspections, and exploratory tours across Montserrado and Grand Cape Mount Counties.

From Executive Talks to Ground Assessments
During his stay, Njie held high-level discussions at the Executive Mansion, where he signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with the Liberian government—an early step toward formalizing the proposed housing project.
He also engaged key institutions, including the National Investment Commission and the Monrovia City Corporation, while touring potential development corridors aimed at addressing Liberia’s housing deficit.

A major highlight of the visit was his inspection of proposed project sites in Bentol City, where he emphasized the need to decongest Monrovia through planned urban expansion.
“We deliberately avoid building in already congested areas because what we are trying to do is to create new urban centers,” Njie said during the Bentol tour, outlining a “live, work and play” model designed to foster sustainable communities.

Exploring Liberia Beyond Housing
Beyond housing, the TAF CEO extended his visit to the tourism-rich Lake Piso area in Grand Cape Mount County, where he expressed admiration for Liberia’s untapped natural potential.
Standing along the shores of the country’s largest lake, Njie described the area as a prime destination for tourism and investment.

“I would really advise that anytime anybody visits Africa, don’t only stop at the capital city… you have pristine beaches like this,” he said, encouraging broader exploration of Liberia’s coastal and ecological assets.
He further noted that such “virgin” locations present opportunities for integrated development, combining housing, tourism, and environmental preservation.

“We Will Be Back Soon”
In a farewell message delivered ahead of his departure, Njie described his visit as both productive and emotional, citing the level of support received from the government and the Liberian people.
“It’s now five days I have been in Liberia and I am leaving… very emotional about the stay that I’ve had here,” he said.
He praised President Boakai for his leadership and hospitality, noting that the initial agreement signed at the Executive Mansion set the tone for subsequent engagements.
“I met ministers, senior public servants, and the general public… the love Liberians showed me, I have never had anywhere,” Njie added.
Moving Toward Implementation
Njie disclosed that groundwork for implementation has already begun, including the establishment of a local operational presence.
“We have now got our offices, we are opening bank accounts, we are going to hire staff,” he said, signaling readiness to transition from planning to execution.

He announced plans to return to Liberia within a month to commence full-scale operations.
A Broader Vision for Development
Throughout his visit, Njie consistently emphasized that TAF Africa Global’s approach goes beyond housing, incorporating broader economic and social development.

“We don’t only stop at housing… we try to show what Africa has to offer,” he noted during his Lake Piso visit, linking infrastructure development with tourism and investment promotion.
Looking Ahead
With feasibility studies underway and institutional engagements advancing, the conclusion of Njie’s visit signals a transition from exploratory dialogue to early-stage implementation.

If realized, the proposed housing initiative—combined with potential tourism investments—could play a transformative role in reshaping Liberia’s urban and economic landscape.
For now, Njie’s message to Liberians remains clear: optimism, partnership, and action will define the next phase.
“Let us be positive and build Liberia again… I will be back in a month’s time,” he said.
