Mr. Mustapha TAF Njie announces his arrival in Liberia

MONROVIA, Liberia — International real estate developer Mustapha “TAF” Njie, Chief Executive Officer of TAF Africa Global, has arrived in Liberia, marking a significant step toward what could become a major low-cost housing initiative in the country.

Njie touched down in Monrovia on Sunday from Freetown, Sierra Leone, following growing public interest and engagement from Liberians urging him to expand his development footprint to the country.

“Quite a number of Liberians were asking me to come to Liberia. I have answered your call,” Njie said in a live broadcast shortly after his arrival.

High-Level Engagements Begin

The TAF CEO is expected to begin a series of high-level meetings on Monday, including talks with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, as well as engagements with key government ministries and agencies.

According to Njie, the discussions will focus on establishing a framework for TAF’s operations in Liberia, primarily through a public-private partnership model.

“I will be meeting government officials starting tomorrow, beginning with the President himself… and the relevant government ministries and bodies in setting up TAF in Liberia,” he disclosed.

He expressed optimism that his visit could yield concrete outcomes, including the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and possibly a joint venture agreement before his departure.

“We are looking forward that by the time I leave here, we will sign an MOU and, if possible, a joint venture agreement to definitely start this year,” Njie added.

Part of Continental Housing Vision

Njie emphasized that Liberia’s potential inclusion forms part of TAF Africa Global’s broader ambition to deliver one million homes across Africa, targeting affordable housing solutions in rapidly growing urban centers.

“It’s part of the million homes that we are trying to deliver across the continent… a block and a brick, a mortar, one after the other,” he said.

The proposed initiative in Liberia is expected to align with similar projects already underway in countries such as The Gambia, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria.

First Impressions of Liberia

Shortly after his arrival, Njie was taken on a tour of parts of Monrovia, where he expressed admiration for the country’s natural landscape and development potential.

“I love the landscape already… it’s really, really nice,” he remarked while visiting a very beautiful golf course.

Diaspora Engagement and Investment Push

Beyond government-level discussions, Njie also signaled plans to engage the African diaspora as part of his investment strategy, announcing upcoming forums in Europe and the United States where Liberia will now be featured.

He disclosed that TAF will host an investment engagement in London on June 21 and another in Silver Spring, Maryland, in August, aimed at attracting potential clients and investors interested in property developments across Africa—including Liberia.

Building Momentum

Njie’s arrival comes amid increasing attention on Liberia’s housing deficit and the government’s push to attract foreign direct investment into infrastructure and real estate.

His visit is widely seen as a potential breakthrough moment, especially if ongoing negotiations lead to signed agreements and the commencement of construction within the year.

“Follow all our social media handles… I will definitely update you on what we are doing here,” Njie told his followers, signaling continued public engagement throughout his stay.

As Liberia explores new pathways to address its housing challenges, all eyes will be on the outcome of Njie’s engagements with the Boakai administration in the coming days.
