Youth and Sports Ministry Engages Renowned French Football Agent as Discussions Focus on Scouting, Player Development, and Pathways to Professional Football Abroad

MONROVIA, Liberia – The Ministry of Youth and Sports has taken another step toward strengthening football development in Liberia after opening discussions with renowned French football agent Farid Adjaoud, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Adjaoud Consulting 4 Stars Management, on forging strategic partnerships aimed at creating international opportunities for Liberian footballers.

The high-level engagement, held over a dinner meeting on June 23, 2026, brought together Youth and Sports Minister C. Zeogar Wilson, senior football stakeholders, representatives of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), women’s football clubs, and France-based Liberian football advocate Mohammed Diallo to explore practical avenues for elevating Liberia’s football talent onto the global stage.

The discussions centered on building sustainable partnerships that will strengthen scouting and talent identification, establish stronger relationships with professional clubs abroad, and create clearer pathways for both male and female Liberian footballers to secure opportunities in international leagues.

Participants also underscored the importance of investing in grassroots football, youth academies, and player development structures to ensure that promising young athletes receive the technical training and exposure needed to compete at the highest level.

Officials noted that expanding access to international football markets could not only transform the careers of individual players but also contribute to the long-term growth and competitiveness of Liberian football.

During the meeting, Farid Adjaoud expressed interest in working with Liberian football authorities to identify emerging talent and strengthen collaboration between Liberia and European football networks.

As a symbolic gesture of friendship and growing cooperation, Adjaoud presented two autographed Columbus Crew jerseys worn by Liberian-American football star Darlington Nagbe. The jerseys were designated as special gifts for President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sara Beysolow Nyanti in recognition of their support for youth development and sports.

Nagbe, one of the most accomplished Liberian-born footballers of his generation, has enjoyed a distinguished career in Major League Soccer (MLS), winning multiple league titles while representing both the United States Men’s National Team and Columbus Crew. His success continues to inspire a new generation of Liberian footballers aspiring to compete on the international stage.

The meeting concluded with both sides committing to continue discussions and develop practical initiatives that will strengthen Liberia’s football development framework, enhance player exposure, and expand opportunities for talented Liberian athletes to pursue professional careers abroad.

The engagement forms part of the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ broader efforts to reposition Liberia’s sports sector by promoting international partnerships, improving talent development systems, and creating sustainable opportunities for young athletes to succeed both at home and on the global stage.
