–Football House Seeks Stronger Compliance, Professionalism, and Digital Efficiency Among Clubs
MONROVIA, Liberia – The Liberia Football Association (LFA) has officially launched its Club Licensing Refresher Workshop for key football stakeholders as preparations intensify for the upcoming league season.
The workshop brings together administrators from First and Second Division clubs to review updated club licensing regulations, strengthen compliance with international football standards, and enhance the administrative capacity of clubs across the country.
According to the LFA, the training is designed to familiarize participants with recent developments in club licensing requirements while improving the use of the Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP) to ensure timely, accurate, and error-free submissions.
Raising Standards in Liberian Football
Speaking at the opening ceremony, LFA First Vice President Professor Sekou W. Konneh underscored the critical role of effective club administration in the overall development of Liberian football.
Professor Konneh emphasized that improving both the administrative and technical capacities of clubs remains essential to raising the standard of the game and ensuring that Liberian football aligns with the requirements of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA.
He, however, expressed disappointment over the low turnout of clubs at the workshop, urging football administrators to take advantage of opportunities that enhance professionalism and strengthen institutional capacity.
Licensing Key to Professional Football
Also speaking at the event, Francis Dorko, Co-Chairman of the LFA First Instance Board, highlighted the importance of club licensing as a cornerstone of modern football governance.
Dorko noted that the licensing system plays a vital role in improving professionalism, accountability, infrastructure development, financial management, and operational standards within clubs.
He stressed that compliance with licensing requirements not only enhances the quality of football administration but also ensures that clubs meet important deadlines and maintain eligibility for domestic and international competitions.
Focus on Digital Compliance
A key component of the workshop is training club officials on the effective use of the Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP), which has become an essential tool for managing licensing documentation and submissions.
The LFA believes that strengthening digital literacy among club administrators will improve efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline the licensing process.
Participants are expected to receive guidance on best practices for document submission, compliance monitoring, and the implementation of updated licensing regulations.

The Liberia Football Association says the workshop forms part of its broader efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance throughout Liberian football.
