MONROVIA – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has donated US$30,000 to support Liberia’s 15 counties as they prepare for the 2026 National County Sports Meet, providing an early financial boost ahead of the country’s premier annual sporting competition.

According to Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah, each of the 15 counties will receive US$2,000 from the President’s contribution to assist with their initial preparations before the official fundraising campaign begins.

Minister Kruah disclosed that the nationwide fundraising campaign will be streamed live, allowing Liberians both at home and across the diaspora to contribute directly to their respective counties.

Under the fundraising format, donations will be displayed and updated in real time, with each county receiving a dedicated time slot to raise funds before the campaign transitions to the next participating county.

The initiative is expected to strengthen preparations across all 15 counties by providing early financial support as teams organize training, logistics, and other activities leading up to the 2026 National County Sports Meet.
