MONROVIA – Nearly three years into its administration, the Unity Party government is facing increasing scrutiny over its reported lack of significant achievements, Eddie Jarwolo, Executive Director of Naymote Partners for Democratic Development, has publicly challenged the government to identify any signature project that it has accomplished since taking office.
In a recent interview on Punch FM, Jarwolo emphasized the need for urgent reforms, including the establishment of a Parliamentary School akin to those in Ghana and Sierra Leone, to enhance the capabilities of lawmakers in Liberia.
He criticized the current legislative body, arguing that many lawmakers appear disconnected from effective governance and lack proper direction.

“The country is headed nowhere without proper training for our lawmakers,” Jarwolo warned, highlighting the importance of equipping political leaders with the necessary skills to navigate complex governance challenges.
His comments come in response to remarks made by Speaker Richard Koon regarding women’s representation in the National Legislature. Jarwolo expressed his support for implementing proportional representation as a means to increase female participation in politics.
Jarwolo also took the opportunity to critique the previous government led by the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), particularly its approach to public communication.
He cited the Emirates Hospital project as an example of poor information management, questioning how effectively the public was informed about such initiatives.
As the Unity Party government approaches its third year in power, Jarwolo’s calls for transparency, accountability, and tangible development outcomes resonate among citizens eager for progress.
“Now we are going into three years, what signature project can this Unity Party-led government point out?” he asked, urging the administration to showcase concrete achievements that would demonstrate its commitment to the nation’s development. The Unity Party administration now faces growing pressure to respond to these critiques and provide a clear outline of its accomplishments and plans for the future.
