Madam Rochelle Woodson

MONROVIA – Rochelle Woodson, Chief Executive Officer of Rovers Ladies, and her team have pledged continued support and commitment to the growth of women’s football in Liberia following the May 15, 2026 elections of the Liberia Football Association.

In a statement issued after the polls, Team Rochelle Woodson expressed gratitude to football stakeholders, delegates, supporters, partners, and members of the football community for their encouragement, confidence, and unwavering support throughout the election campaign.

The team acknowledged that although the outcome of the election did not go in their favor, they remain proud of the campaign they mounted and the vision they presented for women’s football development in Liberia.

According to the statement, football ultimately emerged as the true winner of the electoral process, while reaffirming the team’s respect for democracy and the decisions made by delegates during the congress.

Team Rochelle Woodson also congratulated all elected officials of the Liberia Football Association and called for unity, integrity, inclusion, and collective responsibility in advancing the development of Liberian football.

“Football remains bigger than any individual ambition,” the statement emphasized, while urging stakeholders to work together in the interest of the game.

Despite the electoral setback, the team vowed to remain actively engaged in advocating for the growth and transformation of women’s football through meaningful inclusion, equal opportunities, empowerment, and sustainable progress across all levels of the sport.

The statement further stressed that the struggle for greater visibility, investment, and institutional support for women’s football in Liberia remains far from over.

Team Rochelle Woodson also thanked everyone who believed in the vision and pledged to continue serving Liberian football with passion, humility, and purpose.

Political and sports observers say the statement reflects a strong display of sportsmanship and maturity following what many described as a highly competitive LFA electoral process.

The May 15 LFA Congress resulted in the re-election of Mustapha I. Raji for a third and final term as President of the Liberia Football Association, alongside the election of several new and returning Executive Committee members.
